Acceptable File Format for DTF

When submitting your order, you can upload a print-ready PDF format, a transparent PNG, or a TIFF. Your file must be 300 DPI or higher at actual size.

When we refer to a file as ‘print-ready,’ we mean it has all the necessary specifications for producing a high-resolution print product, without requiring any adjustments. Essentially, print-ready files are digital files that are 100% prepared for the print operator to simply open the file and hit print.

If your file is in a different format or not correctly sized, we will need to open it in the original design software, make the adjustment, and then export it as a PNG or TIFF.

By requesting a print-ready file at the correct size, we aim to minimize the chances of operator errors, software glitches, or digital issues that could arise during processing.

If and only if we catch an error or see something is off on your uploaded file we will contact you to send us a new file or confirm to proceed as is. otherwise we will print the order. Please double check your file before uploading it.

Also, It is your responsibility to inspect the transfer before applying it to any garments. We are not liable for any damages to garments regardless of who is at fault.

We do not accept the following types of files as print-ready, and orders containing them will be held until we receive a correct file or your approval to proceed as is. Please note: this will cause at least one day delay in the delivery of your order.

  • Any formats other than PDF, PNG, or TIFF.
  • Files with a background.
  • Files that are not saved at the actual size.
  • Files with less than 300 dpi resolution.
  • Files made on larger canvas or not properly cropped.
  • Files made in RGB mode.

Vector vs Raster Files

When working with digital images, it is important to understand the fundamental differences between raster and vector files. Raster files are composed of tiny, square pixels that come together to form the overall image. While raster images can look great when viewed at their original size, they can become distorted and blurry if you try to resize them beyond their intended dimensions. Vector graphics, on the other hand, use mathematical formulas to create shapes and lines that are resolution-independent. This means that vector images can be scaled up or down without any loss of detail or clarity.

Pre-press requairement and tips

Vector Files

– All files and layouts should be set up at the actual size.
– The minimum weight for floating lines should be at least 1 pt for White and 1.5 for other colors.
– The minimum font size for floating text is between 10 to 12, depending on the font type. Please see the picture below for reference.
– Fonts should be converted to curves or outlines, and strokes should be converted to objects.
– If you are using raster images in your artwork, make sure they are at least 300 DPI before saving your PDF.
– Any color space embedded in your file will be used for color matching. If there is no embedded profile, we will use the US Sheetfed Coated profile for CMYK images and the sRGB or Adobe RGB(1998) profile for RGB images. Please note that the DTF cannot produce RGB color, and if you submit an RGB file, The printer rip software will convert it to CMYK for printing.
– Once you have checked everything, save your file as a PDF before uploading it to our website.

Check the Thickness of the lines and Fonts

Draw a Cross and set the thickness to 1 pt for White text and 1.5 Pt for other colors move it with your mouse around the thinnest part of the font and make sure it is thicker than the minimum thickness required.

Raster Files

– All files and layouts should be set up at the actual size.

Please make sure the canvas size is the same as artwork. avoid sending files with extra transparent backgrounds. Otherwise, the print will be smaller than you intended it to be.
– Images need to be saved at an appropriate resolution of 300 dpi or above in actual size for continuous tone reproduction.
– Avoid using transparent fading or glow effects on free-floating art. If there is even 1% of any color it will get 100% White underneath. If you have a transparent object on your design it will appear almost as White, because that transparent color will get 100% White under base.

– When removing the background, make sure to have sharp, crisp edges.
– Images with soft edges do not reproduce well because the small dots that create the image are not able to adhere to the shirt. Due to lack of adhesive surface, it will result in losing the edges of the design and give a rough, splotchy edge. Images with hard, defined edges do not run into this issue.
– TURN OFF any anti-aliasing or make sure the resample/interpolation method is set to the nearest neighbor when exporting artwork to PNG.
– You can submit JPG and bitmap images for pictures with a background, but for free-floating art, make sure to use a transparent background and save it as PNG or TIFF to avoid printing the white background box.

Your customer may send a low-quality image saved with a 300 DPI resolution. You can open it in Photoshop to inspect it by selecting the transparent area, going to the Select tab, and clicking Inverse.

As shown in the image below, the right side appears blurry, and there are some semi-transparent pixels around the edges. The left maple leaf is a 300 DPI PNG created from a vector file, while the right side is also a 300 DPI PNG. However, the right one likely originates from a lower DPI image or a high-quality raster file that was enlarged and saved as 300 DPI. The transparent pixel around the edges may appear White, which can cause a visible White halo effect around the transfer.

Gang Sheet

“Gang sheet” is a commonly used term for printing multiple images on one sheet of paper to save on cost and time. Gang sheets are perfect when you have several images or need various sizes of the same design. Gang Sheet Price
